Kia Picanto


In the presentation of its new car, Picanto, Kia insisted on illuminating the origin of the name, of the French piquant, or spicy. That could give the idea of a car with sporting proposal, but Picanto, with its motor 1,1-litro, doesn't follow that line. Its spicy aspect refers more to the eight available colors, some very strong and daring ones, to the finish, excellent, with great construction, and to the price, quite competitive. For R$ 34,9 thousand, the car brings metallic painting, fog lights, hydraulic direction, glasses, restraints and electric retrovisores, air conditioning, play-cd with MP3, wheels of light league of 14 inches (with tires 165/60) and, for R$ 5.000 the plus, automatic exchange. All this with five year-old warranty. The spicy, therefore, he/she says respect to the competition.
When somebody refers to Picanto as car is not expression force. He is, really, the smallest car for sale in the Brazilian market, with 3,50 m. Only to compare, him Ford Ka has 3,62 m, 12 cm the plus, although the trunks of both have close sizes: while the one of Picanto has 157 l, the one of Ka behaves 186 l. That par excellence turns it an urban car, with the advantage of counting with four doors, non available option for the competitor done by Ford. Far away from being a problem, the reduced size it is something wanted by a lot of people, that want an agile vehicle in the traffic and small enough to fit in any he/she wanders.
Another of its advantages in relation to the competitors is the motor 1,1-litro. The cylinder capacity, not very adult than the one of national models, is not reflected in more potency, on the contrary: with 64 cv to 5.500 rpm, he is more modest than Fiat Fire (65 cv with gasoline), that Volkswagen EA-111 (72 cv, also with derived him of petroleum) and that Chevrolet VHC (77 cv, with gasoline, in the most potent version, used in Corsa).

With less series items that Picanto, Celtic Chevrolet Super 1.0 FlexPower costs R$ 33.703; Fiat Palliates Fire Flex, also without the same package, he/she leaves for R$ 32.802; already VW Fox Plus, with the same items, is sold by R$ 45.039.

None of the three competitors offers automatic exchange as option, but everybody has a more generous trunk, what should be taken into account for who to need of space for suitcases or he/she has the habit of traveling. None of the national ones, in a whole way, has five year-old warranty, an encouragement for who resists to buy cars of Kia.
