The 23 of August of 2006 mark the release of the flexible version in fuel of the motor Rubs of 1 liter of Ford. That four years and three months after the official presentation of the new generation of Fiesta, in May of 2002. The delay perhaps didn't go so noticed if in the release of the car Ford had not also exhibited a model flex, that ended up finding the on the way to the production, just in the version with motor 1,6-litro, two years and four months then, in September of 2004, when Fiesta Sedan was presented. In other words, forget that history that, if the price of the liter of alcohol costs up to 70% than it costs one of gasoline, it compensates to provision with etanol. That general rule not always it is worth.
In the case of Fiesta 1-litro, the consumption with alcohol is of 9,8 km/l in the highway and 8 km/l in the city, in agreement with Ford. With gasoline, the numbers are, respectively, of 15,9 km/l and 12 km/l. Dividing the consumption of alcohol for the of gasoline, for each situation (estrada=15,9/9,8 and cidade=12/8), he/she/it arrives to the correct price proportion between the alcohol and the gasoline. For the use in highway, the etanol cannot cost more than 61,64% of the value of a liter of gasoline; in the city, if that relationship passes of 66,67%, the fossil fuel will offer a relationship of better cost.
With that, it is only advantage to use alcohol, in Fiesta 1.0 Flex, in Goiás and São Paulo, in agreement with the monthly rising of prices of ANP, so much in the highway as in the city. For those states, in courses rodoviários, there is also to have some care, since the alcohol doesn't offer the same autonomy that the gasoline, being necessary to stop more times to provision. In the urban cycle, it is advantageous to use the alcohol under some little conditions, since the etanol is better taken advantage of by a hot motor. In short courses, of less than five kilometers, to use the etanol, to not to be for subjects of social responsibility and commitment with a cleaner middle-atmosphere, it is cold.

In suspension terms, Fiesta continues being one of the best of the segment, with good success. It just inconveniences when the floor is wet and the suspension is humid.
