
One of the stars of the stand of Nissan in the Living room of the Automobile, new Nissan Murano, was presented to the press in the track of tests of Pirelli, in Sumaré, inside São Paulo, with the mission of competing with BMW X3, Volvo XC90 and Volkswagen Touareg. Besides the beautiful drawing, he counts with more two attributes to try to occur well in the taskwork: the price, of R$ 220 thousand, the more bass among the mentioned models, and the group motor and exchange. But will it be that gets?
That answer will only be given when the sales begin, on October 23. To good of the truth, the vehicle is already with pré-sales in the living room, but, according to Nélio Bilate, director of sales and marketing of Nissan, his main paper is it of attracting public to the resales of the mark, in the same way that the sporting 350Z do. “Murano is a show car, a sculpture in movement, and he/she should bring many customers to our stores that, if they could not buy it, they can be interested in vehicles more accessible of our mark”, Bilate said.
That intelligent strategy, that it could be followed by Chevrolet, with Corvette, and for Ford, with Mustang, he/she gives image results for the marks, especially for Nissan, that intends to grow in the Brazilian market.
Returning to Murano, its value is lower than the one of two mentioned competitors, tying with the one of Touareg V6, that is its competitive one more direct in the line Volkswagen. With relationship to the other two models, BMW and Volvo, the comparison doesn't favor Nissan. First because, in spite of more caros,Volvo and BMW they count with the international recognition of deluxe marks, while Nissan acts in a more accessible segment. The own company recognized that when creating Infiniti, its deluxe division, to example than they made Honda, with Acura, and Toyota, with Lexus. In the USA, the mark compares Murano to the following models: Buick Rendezvous, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander and Chevrolet Trailblazer, none of them for sale in Brazil for official import.
Due to that, perhaps Murano until it conquers some buyers of those vehicles, but not, certainly, those that look for in the car a larger value than the one of a mere means of transportation. When the subject goes social status, the scale it will hang for the Europeans. At least in the case of the XC90, the load will also influence, since Volvo is larger and he/she has space for seven occupants.
That doesn't remove of Murano, in a whole way, I appeal him of being a crossover of those dared of the market (who not to consider it beautiful he/she won't stop noticing it). Crossover, be said, it is the definition that gives him the vehicles with traction in the four wheels and go-free reasonable, but without resources off-road as reduced march. Called of VQ35DE, he is, since the magazine “Ward's Auto World Magazine” it instituted the prize of better motor of the world, there are 12 years, one of the ten finalists in all the editions. The potency, of 231 cv to 6.000 rpm, and the torque, of 32,4 kgm to 3.600 rpm, they do with that he has enough force to carry the 1.875 kg of the crossover. Unhappily Nissan didn't disclose the data of acting of Murano.

The commands of the retrovisores are in the central panel, not very ahead of the exchange lever, in good position. In the door they are the commands of the glasses and of the restraint of the doors. I command them better positioned they are the one of the central computer, below the screen of information, almost as if it was a control table in miniature.
Tied up motor, is enough to accelerate so that Murano becomes quickly in movement. The stability, usually under suspicion in cars of very big free empty space, it is quite good, at least in the conditions offered by the track of Pirelli, that counted besides with a small space of fast deviation of obstacles with wet track. There were not out-of-highway spaces there in that it was possible mensurar the capacity to face difficult lands, but at once, due to the lack of reduced march, it can be said that she is not also there of the largest ones.
More select conclusions will depend on more time and distance traveled with the car, but the brief evaluation the one that he was submitted allows to say that Murano doesn't have, in the Brazilian market, any car in its exact market segment, what turns it a pioneer. And a pioneer that presents enough qualities to turn it easy figurinha in the streets, in spite of the modest expectations from venda(8 to 10 a month).
