2007 Cadillac XLR


This elegant hard-top convertible is based on the Chevrolet Corvette, but uses the smooth Northstar V8 engine. Acceleration is lively, and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly and responsively. A sportier, supercharged XLR-V is also available. Pronounced body lean and overly light steering keep the handling from feeling agile. The ride is competent but can get unsettled.
